Up Topic Welding Industry / ASME Codes / Do you have to have a procedure to inspect to B31.1

Lets say AWS CWI/ASNT VT Level II Mr. Chuck Knuckles from company XYZ comes into a plant ABC to inspect a couple welds that one of his welders from XYZ performed.  Plant ABC wants the welds inspected to B31.1 and they want to review company XYZ's VT inspection procedure.  Does company XYZ need a VT inspection procedure to do this work?  I can't remember where it says that the person performing the VT must inpsect to their company's VT inspection procedure written around B31.1.  I think it's somewhere in paragraph 136 in chp VI.  Does this mean that independent CWI's must write their own procedures to inspect to the multiple ASME codes?

Thanks,
Kix

If the code lists an approved VT procedure as a requirement, it is applicable to anyone performing the work. That equally applicble to the manufacturer or a contractor hired to perform the services.
