hey guys,
i just bought a new miller maxstar 140 str a few weeks ago and now a friend is selling the lincoln invertec v300 pro. he wants 500 for it. nothing wrong with it. i dont think i can pass up the price. i think it is 10 yrs. old. he had it a year and it came from a vo-tech. he just doesnt need it. is anyone out there familiar with this power source. it has digital voltage and amperage display, inductance, arc force adjustment, remote.cc/cv mig tig stick unit. i have everything that will run off it, feeder, tig torch, etc. does anyone know how many amps i will draw off my miller trailblazer if im runnin 1/8 7018 @ 125 amps? i think it draws 47 amps @250a 100% and 39 amps @300a 60% i dont really need it but the price seems too good and i will find a use for it. any comments??
thanks, rich

I assume that's 47 at 300 and 39 at 250. If so and assuming a linear relationship (true in 250 - 300 range) then expect draw of about 20 amps at 125.

That invertec 300 is a great machine, I used one for years on a ship that I worked on. I found it more than capable whether TIG welding copper nickel, welding high pressure pipe or even a steady diet of arc gouging. If you can get it for 500 bucks i would jump on it.
