Up Topic Welding Industry / General Welding Discussion / Welder supply voltage requirement?
- - By t63-a-700 Date 12-26-2002 20:57
I have a Ideal Arc Tig/Stick 300 that I obtained from an auction. I purchased the welder knowing that it was 208 volt single phase unit. I have not hooked the welder up yet, but I was wondering if anyone has hooked a similar welder (i.e. voltage) to their single phase 230-240 volt home power supply? If you have, what were the results? Does anyone recommend or object against doing this. The manufacturer stated that the welder would operate ± 10% of the rated input (187.2 - 228.8 VAC).
I just wanted to find out if any one has faced the same problem as me.

I greatly appreciate any advise regarding this question.

Regards,
Todd

Look inside the box. There are likely to be taps on the transformer for 230 volt input. With luck even a diagram.
