If SA-240 316/L material is purchased to be made into a flange where are Laminations adressed in ASME?
I'm sure ive read it but right now dont have a copy @ home.
I have some junk material that as of right now is scrap... Lamination indications. (going to clean up plasma edges and check again not hopeful)
The engineer only stated SA-240 but the po says all SA-material to be in full conformance with ASME.
Ive been in SA-240 All 2 pages lol, and 480 (i think).
Any advice would be helpful.

Sa-240 has to also comply with SA-480 Specification for General Requirements for Flat Rolled Stainless and Heat Resisting Steel Plate, Sheet, and Strip".

I think your position with the supplier should be that the material has to comply with the Workmanship section of SA480.   From SA480- "The steel shall have no imperfections of a nature or degree for the type and quality ordered that will adversely affect the stamping, forming, machining, or fabrication of finished parts."

I did reject based on SA-240.
But what Id like to Read is ....somthing about flanges or rings that are made of sheet and lamination inspections on the inside and outside.
I can't seem to find it, do you recall anything like that?
