Please could someone help im confussed.
Are ASME welders the same as ABS welders.
Im from the uk and and have ASME codings  but want to work with a company that reqire ABS certification.
I wonder if someone could explain the difference

ABS is the American bureau of ships.   some things are the same a lot of things are very different.    Their drawings are like reading Greek nothing like you are used to if your not in the ship building scene

ABS is the American equivalent to the LRS (Lloyd's Register of Shipping) you have in the UK.

Thanks for your replies,
What Im trying to find out is, if i hold hold ASME codings do these allow me to weld where ABS codings are required or do i need to do ABS weld testing.

You'll have to re-test at the ABS shop, which will need to be witnessed by an ABS Surveyor.
