Please clarify, D1.3/D1.3M:2008 Table 4.4 note a, this note states “Two tests shall be required for each assembly”. We have an internal disagreement on what this actually requires. If the welder is qualifying for the vertical position only, then 2 test assemblies would be required. If the welder is qualifying for the vertical and overhead position, then only one test assembly for each position would be required, as opposed to Table 4.1 note a for WPS qualification, which states “Two test shall be required for each welding position…”
