I have been interested in taking Cwi 1.1 for a while now. I registered for the d1.1 code clinic seminar week and exam.
I think this is base course when trying to become an inspector.
I also see it being offered in API 1104 which I believe to be welding
Of pressurized pipe etc. I think I should just for for the d1.1 because this
Is the type of welding I am certified to do. I am involved in
Telecommunications towers and would like to be certified in welding inspection
As well as bolting inspection. Is this the right place to start?

Your info suggests you have made two posts, but,

WELCOME TO THE AWS WELDING FORUM!!

As Al's post hinted, it is ONLY a START

If you have already registered for the seminar and exam I presume you have read the QC1 and B5.1 standards for qualifications and exam info and Code of Ethics for becoming an inspector.  I would further suggest you buy, read, and study the referenced self study materials listed with the application process.  Even the WIT book which you will recieve at the seminar as part of your package.  Alot of material to cover in one week.  Wise to know it ahead of time and be able to concentrate more on the code of your choosing while at the seminar and just review the general knowledge information.

Come onto the forum here and ask questions any time.

Just my two tin pennies worth.  Good Luck.

Have a Great Day,  Brent
