Position: Welding Inspector
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 7 - 8 Months

Job Description:
•  The CWI candidate will be responsible to oversee and inspect all carbon steel pipes welding and perform QA/QC of installation and testing.
•  They will need to record construction vendor selection and monitor and verify installation drawings.
•  Candidate will need to be able to verify weld and heat number map.
•  They will monitor material control, which includes but not limited to all piping, fittings, valves, storage of material, and usage.
•  The CWI will be required to monitor all welding control of installation.
•  This includes weld joint identification, joint dimension description, fit-up inspection, welder information, preheat, and electrical/electrode parameters.
•  CWI will monitor and verify all non destructive testing. This will include vendor selection.
•  CWI must monitor testing procedures, qualifications, and testing methods.
•  CWI must have experience in the following testing methods, to include VT, MT, PT, RT. CWI will monitor and verify all repair welding control, include welding repair cycle, excavation preparation, and welding.
•  CWI will be required to monitor all pressure testing of piping, as well as monitor flushing and cleaning of piping.
•  CWI must have experience with cleaning/flushing procedures: Hydro Lazing, Velocity Flushing, and Recirculation Flushing as well as post test water removal and purge.
•  CWI will monitor all field coating and perform and record all visual inspections.
•  CWI will also monitor all as built drawings and verify final documentation submittal.
•  All reports must be submitted promptly and all communication must include construction oversight team.

Job Requirement:
•  The qualified candidate must be an experienced certified welding inspector (AWS CWI) for the full time inspection for the welding associated with the 59th Street and 74th Street Gas Addition Projects.
•  The inspector shall have a degree in applicable field.
•  The inspector shall be dedicated to the project and have at least 5yrs of experience with Carbon Steel piping system fabrication and welding using both API 1104 and ASME B31.1 codes.
•  The inspector should have knowledge and experience in performing VT, MT, PT, and RT inspection techniques.
•  Additionally, the inspector shall be an ASNT Level II in RT and will be required to perform verification of RT films performed by others.
•  Inspector must be trained in confined space entry and be able to travel to fabrication location for inspections as deemed necessary by Company.
