I love it when..

Somebody tells me it can’t be done.
My son tries harder when he is mad at me or himself.
My son comes up with a question that makes me question my own methods.
A machine will strike easy, burn a lohy soft and quietly.  Then can make a 6010 dig deep.
The machine runs out of fuel 5 minutes after the last rod for the day.
The contractor’s crew will do whatever I say.
My boys volunteer to come do something in the shop for the “fun of it”.
The smell of my truck cab at 5am.
Listening to the truck warm up at 5am.
The sound of popping open a brew in my driveway at 7-10pm.
Smiles on the bosses face after I have rolled up.
Having the owner of a large company come out to shake my hand.
My customers act like family with me.
A good strong breeze in the summertime.
That raspberry sound from the torch on a piece of thick metal.
Somebody calls bs on welding aluminum foil or razor blades together and they got cash.
Hearing “You are our guy from now on”.
An operator who is just good and not a cowboy.
Peeling flux on any weld.
Watching people jump or yell Ouch when I am running 308 or similar.
Seeing a great cap no matter who done it.
Unboxing a new piece of equipment I have went without for far too long.
Being able to say “yes I can”.
Hearing its all good/you passed.
I really feel like working.
Quick disconnects work like they should.
I learn how to do weld/do something I did think I could.
I get to watch other people weld, especially smaw.
I got to use .020 filler wire.
I have to take my time.
I have enough and the right clamps.
Surprising them when they find out I can run all their equipment myself.
I got the job all figured out Before I am done with it.  Before I start it is even better.
The engineer says “ask the welder what he thinks”.
I get it dead nut.
I go overboard as usual and find out it would not have worked without the extra effort.
My bid is right in the middle and they took it.
My bid is the highest one and they took it.

I am either taking off my sweaty dirty duds or pulling on my boots and think about how lucky I am to get to do something I enjoy doing and my family is doing ok because of it.
