Got a client that I've been working on some beds for and she said the other day(the day I was saying, "never again will I mess with beds") "We want handrail on the front here". This front, hahaha, porch, patio? Is covered in approximately 3" limestone. Actually, the steps, the walkway, all limestone. I said one time while a mason was around that I wanted to core drill an area and he said, "whoa, I....I, don't know if I would do that, it might crack".

So, I know for certain I don't want to use drop in anchors, sammy's, redheads as I have seen the effects of these on limestone on another job. I figure sealing it so water don't get under would be another thing. Think this will be a good place for solid newels!

Any suggestions, past experiences? Thanks for any info, help!

Yeah, I plan to wet core it but keep hearing its soft, plus the mason doing the shrug face thing last time I said something about it made me wonder.
