Hi,
4.10.1.1 corner or t-joint. Test specimens for groove welds in corner or T-joint shall be but joints having the same groove configuration as the corner or t-joint to be used on construction, except the depth of groove need not exceed 1 in(25 mm).

So! what is depth 1 in(25 mm)? code except.

pls help me to clarify.

I am going out on a limb here and say 1" test would qualify unlimited so why waste time and material making bigger than one inch joint?

Yes! 1" test would qualify unlimited thickness. but i just want to make sure that I'm not miss something in corner and T-joints D1.1 code have mention.
