Agreed, dont care for artwork, just doesnt interest me but thats good.
What's the scale of the butterfly? It looks like the holes in the wings are tiny. Did you cut them with plasma by hand?
I love the colors from heat on steel.
Floyd
CNC plasma... Some of the holes are tiney.
Butterflies 5 each stacked... Largest is about 14 inches across I guess.. The small one 4-5
butterfly is awesome...fetch a good price at a tourist shop. I love the leaves and the detail in them....I need about 400 in mixed sizes, how much Larry?
Money would be nice.
I made these things over the weekend with shop tools... Our college foundation is having a silent auction to build scholarship funds... I'm hoping the lads will be inspired and make some nice stuff...
Sombody donated 100 bottles of wine.. So we are building different styles of wine racks... Making jigs etc is decent learning and hopefully we can sell the racks at the auction... The leaves will be embellishments on the racks maybe..... Or wind chimes? I dunno.
Showed my wife the flutterby. Now she wants one. Very cool Lawrence.
You hit the nail on the head....those leaves make very nice accents on wrought iron furniture. You can turn something simple into something fairly pricey just by adding stuff like that. I do not think you will have too much problem making money with that kinda thing...put it in the right place on consignment or what have you and adding the caveat proceeds go to a charitable fund is icing on the cake. Think art galleries, high end furniture places or tourist style shops. Not all welders make a living from beams and pipe, some guys just make money from artful craftsmanship...some quite a lot too.
Very nice Lawrence, what gauge metal?
18 ga. But I've used everything between 16 and 20 for stuff like this.
Some people have that creative edge. Nice work Lawrence.
