Dear All...

Can anyone interpret this statemen in par 8.4.1.c "Dial indicating pressure gages used in testing shall be graduated over a range of about two times the
maximum intended test pressure, but in no case shall the range be less than one and one-half times nor
more than four times the intended test pressure."

Thank b4
Regard

If your test pressure is 100 psi your test gauge should be ~ a 200 psi gauge.  No more than 400, no less than 150.

This is because the precision of dial pressure gages, that have a Bourdon tube inside as the pressure sensitive device, is better between 25% and 75% of the full measuring range. Indications under or above these limits don't deserve full confidence.
Digital pressure gages don't have this limitation.
