Ladies and Gentlemen,
In the Current March edition ASCE "Structure Magazine" ( www.structuremag.org ) there is an article "Arc Spot Welding Steel Deck - A Primer" http://viewer.zmags.com/publication/23bce029#/23bce029/48 . Thomas Sputo the author is with Steel Deck Institute ( www.sdi.org ). The article indicates 6022 - 7014 of 3/32 inch as the electrodes to use. In my bridge responsibilities we have required 1/8 7018's electrodes and preheat. Your views would be appreciated.
                      Sincerely
Len Andersen weld@spemail.org

Hey,thanks for posting that.I picked up some sample rods (6022) from my welding supplier.Told him I' like to try them on a roll off container floor,we'll see what happens.I'm thinking it will be a lot easier than doing my welding from the bottom side. Thanks again

6022 has always worked for us.    Hilti pins are a preference anymore though.   Much faster production rates.
