I played with a new (to me) GMAW wave form this morning from Miller, RMD-P, with .035 solid wire.
I like the way it carries a puddle at fast travel speeds, even with a gap, and how easy it welds vertical up.
Didn't like the amount of spatter.

Anybody else tried this out yet?
Would like your opinions.

Thanks,
Tim Gary

I have tried Miller RMD with 035  L59

Have tried Lincoln STT with the same wire and so far think it much better than the RMD.

My Miller Rep has promised to visit and show me some tricks with the touch pad that are supposed to improve what I have seen so far.  So I'm still waiting for a final judgement.

Thanks Lawrence,

I'm not talking about regular RMD, which has been out for a while.

I'm talking about a new, modified RMD waveform callled RMD-P.
I don't know the details behind it yet, but it seems to be a combination of RMD and Accu-Pulse.
It's only available right now through Miller Axcess "E" technology.
I believe it's still undergoing BETA testing.

I used it yesterday to make a manual 4mm fillet, on 14 ga CS sheet, in a T-joint with a 2mm gap, with an .035 WFS of 500 IPM, at a travel speed of 32 IPM.
I bet it will really fly in a robotic situation.

32 ipm is nothin to sneeze at!

This RMD-P is something new to me...

Sounds similar to Fronius CMT-Pulse   Which lots of folks are comming to like on thin steels and stainless lap joints.
