I was needing some information on D1.14.  I have never had to deal with this code and i am wondering if our D1.1 procedures and qualifications transfer over to d1.14. I do not have the code book yet and obviously will get one when need but was just trying to find some general information about it.

I'm with Al, I think

I believe you mean one of the D14 codes?  Such as D14.1, D14.3, D14.4??

Are you working with heavy equipment, cranes, mills, presses, etc??

If so, D14 is becoming more and more a stand apart/alone code with many differences between it and D1.1.  Especially concerning procedures and qualifications.  Joint configurations that work for structural buildings are much different than joint configurations for equipment.  Stresses, access, and other factors are not the same.

Have a Great Day,  Brent

Yes, sorry, i meant D14.1.  I figured there was some differences but just was trying to get some ideas on them before i got the code book to know what i will be up against.  Would be working on some lifting beams.
