while the ship did break in half, and the crew abandoned ship it did not sink. both half's of the vessel stayed upright and were a drift 19 miles apart at one point.
they are sending two tugs out to retrieve the two half's but its not estimated they will get within eye site of the boat till some time Tuesday.
