AWS D1 .1/D1.1 M:2010 An American National Standard

clause 6.22.7.2 Transducer Dimensions. The transducer crystal shall be square or rectangular in shape and may vary from 518 in to 1 in [15 mm to 25 mm] in width and
from 518 in to 13/16 in [15 mm to 20 mm] in height (see Figure 6.17). The maximum width to height ratio shall be 1.2 to 1.0, and the minimum width-to-height ratio shall
be 1.0 to 1.0.

In the above D1.1 clause the transducer crystal size were specified in dimensions limits  and ratio. in case i use  8 x 9mm transducer crystal size will the size complies to the above clause? seems 8 x 9mm transducer crystal size fall with in the given ratio limit.

the size ratio was given in shall and the dimension were given in may so in my view i can use any size but it should comply to the given ratio. am i right?
