Hi all, good day.

Someone help me with the issue of the minimum separation between welds in pipes working with ASME B31.3, what that says? Or what is my limitation.
Thanks, Greetings

That's the million dollar question. No standard specifies the minimum distance between welds in piping.
What there are, are figures pulled off the air with no technical support (we always did like this and never had any problem, so we'll keep on doing it), or in the best case, figures stated on Piping Standards issued by Engineering Companies, that usually read like this: "Minimum distance between two welds will be X pipe diameters, if at all possible". This means that if it's not possible, the distance may be shorter.

Tim,
Congratulations for the perfect Spanish you speak and write. Your posting's Spanish is too good for having been translated by an automatic translator like those found out on the internet.
Where did you learn the language?

Thanks Professor, but the quality of internet translators has dramatically increased over the past couple of years...
That post was the result of a randomly selected free translator found in a google search.
I don't remember which one.

You would be disgusted to hear my actual Spanish abilities.
All I know are a few common greetings and curse words, which I sometimes mix up.
I envy the intelligence it requires to be bi-lingual.
