what is that tool that is used to spark and light the fire when you begin to weld?  it's handheld with a metal cup at the end and you scratch the metal stick against the inside of the cup to make the spark.  I'd like to buy one but I don't even have a name to begin searching. 
yes, I know it's a dumb question.  don't hurt me.

WELCOME TO THE AWS WELDING FORUM!!

No hurting.  Just answers.  It is called a striker.  You are referring to the tool used ignite an oxy/acet torch for brazing, welding, cutting, heating, etc.  Correct?
