The Conference Board of Canada conducted a survey of 1538 employers in the province of Ontario, Canada.  One question asked was, "What occupation do you expect to have difficulty filling?"

What I find disturbing is that Welders was only ranked 16 in the top 20.  I think companies are going to be shocked in a couple of years when they can't fill their needs.  I know at my company, approx 50 Welders are going to retire within a few years, and we are worried about filling those postions.  Even at $32/hrs, it's been difficult to find skilled Welders.
