Clock number / Welder stamp are simply a means of identifying the welder that welded the test assembly.

Clock number is from the good old days when you had a time clock and a unique time clock number for each employee

It must still be the good ole days here,:wink: because we still use clock numbers for our hourly employees who punch a time card.
They are also given a Stamp/Stencil for them to mark their welds with once they have passed their welder's tests, so that we can keep up with who welded what.
