Hello;
Well, I head to the hospital in the morning for yet another surgery. This time it will be my right shoulder; for the second time. In the past year or so, I have had two spinal surgeries with a fusion. These have not stopped the pain so I went to a shoulder specialist and he found cartilage tears in both shoulders. These will not heal on their own so surgery is needed. He will do the right one and then the left three months later. I am hopeful that these will take. I never knew how much I took for granted until I couldn't do the things I needed to do. Or wanted to do like play a round of golf, play catch with the young ones or have a peaceful nights sleep. If things go right, I am looking at another six to eight months being laid up. The doc is going to fix the tear and move my biceps tendon further down my arm because where it is torn is where this tendon attaches to the shoulder. This is the second time this has tore. He is also going to attempt to tie up my clavicle to try to give it some stability. The first surgeon cut too much off in the first surgery allowing it too much movement. I don't know what caused all this mess but think that if I had listened to the old fellas at work when I was younger, I wouldn't be so bad off. When we needed a length of beam or pipe moved from one end of the shop to the other, I'd just throw it on my shoulder. They'd say, "Boy, use the crane. That's what it's there for". That took too long. Hindsight I guess. I do look forward to getting back under a hood in the near future though. It has been a while and I miss it. On a lighter note, deer season is in full swing here in Texas and have seen some good ones taken already. If any of you hunt, I hope you all get to tag that Muy Grande.

Have a good evening;
Matt

Old age is a *****, but the alternative is worse!

All those injuries come back to haunt us. They never really heal, they just lie dormant for a few year and BANG they get cha!

Good luck with the surgery.

At almost 64 I've come to realize that I can't do the physical or mental tasks of my youth.  Aches & pains are now common unlike a peaceful night's sleep.

You're in our prayers Matt for a successful surgery and full recovery.

Good to hear Matt, let's hope the left one will be just as successfull in a few months.  Take it slow and easy.

Be very careful through the therapy for recovery.  I overdid it once and had to start over again.  Do everything the therapist says so that if anything goes wrong, they will be responsible.  Our elder bodies just don't recoup like they used to.  :roll:  :confused:

Still on our prayer list.  Best wishes.

Have a Great Day,  Brent

Good to hear surgery went well! Sorry to hear about the injuries! I learned at a young age and listened to them old timers! They're going to pay me to use the slow crane? Ok, fine by me! Hope you can get back into the swing of things soon! Good luck and best wishes!
