Aren't we all just minions anyway. When somebody on a job asks a question a usually point to my hood and say welder not decision maker. Maybe with a hood like that their wouldn't be a lot of questions. Its awsome

Get you some spray paint, tape or some clear sheet and make one. It's easy. Maybe I should break out my airbrush and start doing custom hoods for all you money bags out there!! LoL!!!

Coming in out of the rain is 'easy' Cumminsguy71. You've been breaking the laws of physics so long now you've lost some serious perspective. Most people find illustration somewhat difficult. Recently there was a lady in a local school welding booth with a handpainted hood so beautiful I implored her to ditch the uphill 6010 and sell hoods. I so can't stand the Gorilla hoods or the showy Miller hoods but the Minions? Oh yeah.

I will say that I can lay paint that will last....I can do somewhat artistic multicolor stuff, patterns and etc.  But laying paint on a 67 cougar or doing slick LOOKING jobs like on that hood does take some effort way beyond just laying the paint....sanding/buffing/mixing skills and a good does of patience.   But get real the pattern itself is just good airbrush or tape work....the finish however had some labor in it.  I ain't no painter, I am too impatient for it.  My daughter was a killer writer and photographer...I tried and tried to convince her a career in journalism would be her moneymaker (she liked it too)  but she went to pre-med instead, and was miserable.  Having said that I know for a fact Shawn Kelly is a closet artist, in more then one discipline, I have seen it first hand.

Edit:  Them guys that can lay those mile deep candy paint jobs, and liquid tattoo artists with the airbrush or pin striping brush.  Well I say they earn there money, there is just as much if not way more skill in doing it then the most high profile welding job.  Maybe a lot of it is learned and taught, but a heck of a lot is dedication and natural born talent.
