Section II, Part C includes all the AWS filler metal specifications that have been adopted by ASME. One can use the recommendations of AWS/ASME A5.1 / SFA5.1 or refer to the manufacturer's recommendations.

ASME is not AWS, thus whereas AWS codes offer a cookbook approach (prescriptive), ASME offers little, if any advice on "how to do anything."
