Hello,  I'm trying to understand Canadian requirements with respect to CSA B51 "Boiler, Pressure Vessel, and Piping Code".  Is  CSA B51 only applicable IF and when the particular province (or jurisdiction) mandates compliance to that Code, or, is CSA B51 automatically enforced throughout Canada (within the scope of B51)?    

We have an upcoming project in Quebec.  I located an "Act" from Quebec:   A-20.01, Div. 2,  Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ), A-20.01, “Act Respecting Pressure Vessels”.  This "Act" states that it applies to pressure vessels installed in the province of  Québec, but doesn't state anything about pressure piping (e.g. B31.3).

So for ASME B31.3 pressure piping in Quebec, is compliance with CSA B51 required ?

Any feed back would be most appreciated.
