Hello I weld both 304 and 316 ss. General purpose work. Nothing critical or code. I like to stock only 316l wire. Both tig and mig. Is there any signifficant problems welding 304 with this wire other than a higher cost of the 316? Thanks Nate
The alloys mentioned are close one has more Cr and less Ni than the other. Mechanical properties are very similar. For my personal use on some gizmo... yes. But for paying customers, I can't see why you would even ask.
