Hi guys,

Welders have been getting some troubles with 6010 electrode. The electrode cover fluffs up when they start the arc and continue welding, but the current is cutted and is not stable.

My first thinking is about excesive humidity in the electrode or a very old package or batch.

Please another opinion from you.

Thank you so much guys.

Jerry

Jerry,
What brand are you using?

I always preferred Lincoln E6010++.
Not the 5P red rod.

Also, some welding machines are better than others when welding with 6010's.

Did the electrodes come in a hermetically sealed container or a cardboard box?

I believe ASME BPVC-II C, will address your issue.
