Hey guy's,
wasn't sure were or how to post this so I'm going with the Technical Discussion,
We are stud welding some A496 deformed wire anchors to embeds and there is a issue coming up on the size,
EX: Table 2 of A496 states that D-45 wire size has a unit weight of 1.530 lb/ft with a diameter of 0.757" that has a cross-sectional area of 0.45, OK, now the customer is saying that you measure the A496 BEFORE deformation.
We have 3/4" A496 deformed wire that when measured it is 7.48" which has a cross-sectional area of .439 which would be a D-43 but their saying you can not call it that because their saying what was it before the deformation, their stating that it is a D-41 with a diameter of .725" when it was still A108.
Table 2 C states "the nominal diameter of a deformed wire is equivalent to the diameter of a plan wire having the same weight per foot as the deformed wire" can someone enlightened me on this.
Do you measure a A496 before the deformation or after?

Thanks,
Strat
