Dear All ,

Please clarify about Nomogram

Supposed that Base metal is SS 304 Elongation 40% and Electrode is E308-15 Elongation 30% Thickness Specimen  10 mm.

1. Which  Elongation is requrired Base metal  SS 304 or Electrode E308-15 for select draw line ?

2. When Elongation is 30% bend radius would be 9.5 mm. ?

3  When Elongation is 30% bend radius would be 19.5 mm. ?

Regards ,

Have you got a reply to this question. I was also curious about this.

Thanks

I don't have a copy of D1.6 with me, but if I recollect one would use a bend diameter of 4 times the thickness of the coupon as you would with carbon steel.

The picture above is  directly from D1.6. I was just curios what number you would use for elongation. Would this number be elongation of base metal??

Thanks

Use the lower ductility value.

Quick question; how are they calculating the ductility, reduction of cross section or elongation? The values are not the same.
