I will be welding some stainless steel (old dinnerware) as a craft project.
I expect they will be used outside in the open. I plan to use .030 SS wire,
short circuiting transfer, the question is, if I choose to not use a tri-mix,
and opt for C-25, will I have major rusting problems? Any thoughts or
suggestions?

Really? MIG? Let us know how it turns out.

C25 is not recommended for GMAW OR GTAW of stainless...

So you can expect ugly welds that will corrode more easily

Sorry to be a downer.

There are FCAW electrodes for stainless that work well with C25

Lawrence is correct
just argon, imho ( ok Lar tell me how stupid I am:wink::red::eek:)
for small dinnerware
I would use gtaw myself
but that is my forte and feel more comfortable with
gmaw is better on the $ side
but your choice
sincerely,
Kent

IF you are really set on gmaw then A1025 gas would be the ideal gas
