The first question to be answered is what is the chemistry?
The next question is whether it is cast steel, cast ductile iron, what is it?

If you cannot get answers to those questions, your simply rolling the dice and taking your chances.

If I had to guess, I would go for ductile iron casting. That is only a guess, I really don't know.

A photo or two with a large field of view and some dimensions would help.
