Since the destructive test for the welding Operator qualification for Mechanized Welding as per API 1104 Paragraph 12.6.1 does not require Nick Break test, but only Tensile tests, what happens in the case of if only one tensile test fails by a break in the weld with the SMTS greater of the pipe material and on a diameter greater than 12 3/4 in, but does not meet the soundness requirements of 5.6.3.3,  Shall the welding operator to be rejected? Or allowed of retest with two additional tensile speciment? Or two additional nick break specimens?
