At the high school or community college level, how much money do you have to run the welding program you offer. Also, how many kids do you serve?

Need these numbers to try and maintain my budget which has been cut by 65% by a new administrator who just doesn't value these kids who aren't going to be engineers.

We currently average $25/kid for 400-450 kids which I am finding out is peanuts compared to what others still have.

Thanks for providing me the ammo I will need to either change her mind or go above her head.

Hi Zin, don't know if this will do you any good as I work at a community college, but our supply budget works out to about $2.80 per man per hour.  This is supplies only, and does not include major equipment items which are purchased from different budget sources.

Oh and that includes all hours, lecture time included, not just "lab hours".  So the rate per man per hour in the shop is actually a little higher.

Graduate of a Community College and am a Engineer graduate of a University. That being said my immediate thought is being a US Army private as a welding inspector and one who qualified large numbers for structural welding The immediate thought was to pasted fillet break tack welding qualifications and possibility of local private industry kicking it. Wish we spend more on getting young people smart than ---- !
Sincerely

Are you and Zin talking per quarter, per semester, or per year?

It is correct to assume one student = 1 hour per day, 5 days per week?
