Dear experts,
As per ASME Sec IX, Mock up welds for tube to tubesheet welds shall be subjected to Macro examination. As per ASME Sec IX. QW -193.1.3 " The mockup welds shall be sectioned through the center of the tube for macro-examination. The four exposed surfaces shall be smoothed and etched with a suitable etchant"
So, for PQR test specimen (with ten mock up test), we will have 10 x 4 = 40 macro-examination results? Am I right?

Your math is correct and you're interpretation of QW 193.1.3 is the same as mine. :wink:

Seams like a waste because that cut is only a moment in time of that weld and you will be looking at essential a mirror image of two macros on one side.
