Not necessarily weld related but I was on a job doing some TPI and we heard a crash outside the building.

For some reason a guy was under a load of scrap metal tubes that were wrapped in a bundle getting craned into a giant metal bin.  Not sure why you would ever be there.  A pin gave way and ll the metal fell on him in the bin.  He was pinned down by all of it.  Broke a leg and a few ribs and was in total shock too.  Crazy thing too is they sent a helicopter for him, and it landed in the middle of the street which I have never seen done.

Keep your wits about you guys and girls!

Just had a safety meeting with our guys. This was brought up about being under a load. That is the worst place to be. Don't ever trust anything that has been lifted.

Thankfully I haven't seen this in particular, but did see a guy get knocked off a trailer when it was being unloaded by an overhead crane. It knocked him to the ground and he got crushed underneath a bunch of steel. He was hurt pretty bad.

You can never be too careful when it comes to things like this.
