Hello,

My first post.

In accordance with ASME B31.3 2014 any PWHT of inconel 625 (UNS N06625 solution annealed) (P-No.43), incoloy 825 (UNS N08825 annealing water quenching) (P-No.45) and titanium (Gr.29) (P-No.51) will be required by the WPS, thus there is ASME B31.3 requirement for PWHT wall thickness dependent.

Service is sour.

DN for these materials will be upto 12" max. WT 30mm.

Welding will be by GTAW, but I'm not yet sure of the appropriate fillers.

Are there are recommendations to complete any type of PWHT for these three materials?  Some internet literature does imply to complete PWHT for good engineering practice. Titanium B861 does state stress relieving for certain grades, but doesn't include Gr.29.

If anyone can assist me here, it would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

B31.3 does not say that PWHT of these materials IS required. It says, in essence, that if PWHT is to be performed it is to be done in compliance with the WPS.
In other words, the requirement for PWHT of these materials would be generated by the design engineer and then performed in WPS qualification. And the production would be required to comply with that which was qualified.
