Greetings AWS Houston Section Members and Friends,

Dr. Billy Harrell Student Welder Certification Day will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016. Below are the details of the event.

WHAT?
This event is for welding students that would like to take a welder qualification test on the SMAW or FCAW-G processes. Students will follow an AWS D1.1 Welding Procedure Specification to complete the welding test. If the student passes the welding test, a Welder Performance Qualification Record (Certification) will be written and stamped by a Certified Welding Inspector.

WHEN AND WHERE?
The Student Welder Certification Day will be on May 6, 2016.

Testing Location #1: Industrial Welding Academy, 11001 Wallisville Rd. Houston, TX 77013.
Testing Location #2: Sparc Academy, 4500 S Pinemont. Houston, TX 77041.

The testing will start at 8:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM. Students will need to bring their welding safety equipment in order to participate.

HOW?
There are no fees for these events. Please fill out and email the registration form to dan.jones@iwatraining.com.

If we do not have an equal balance of students at the two different testing locations, we will assign schools at one of the testing locations based on the order of registration. We can’t have an unequal balance of students at one location. We will notify you with your testing location 2 weeks before the event.

Please fill out one GENERAL registration form (page 2 of PDF) per school and you may make additional copies of the form if needed.

Please have each student that is testing fill out and bring the welder testing form (page 3 of PDF) with them to the testing facility. The welder testing form will be used for visual and guided bend testing inspection.
