Ladies and Gentlemen,
     Big money media and Bernie Sanders ! Tuesday I vote in New York State Democratic primary. I KNOW VERY LITTLE OF Bernie Sanders. They say congressman. How long ? They say Brooklyn New York place to 18. Where else ? Nothing heard on him earning living outside of being a congressman. I heard with people around me he is lawyer. Is he ? Any input greatly appreciated. Will be by my lonesome Tuesday voting on your future !

Bernie is a U.S. Senator. He was born and raised in Brooklyn. After one year at Brooklyn College, he transferred to the Univ. of Chicago, where he earned a B.S. in Political Science. He does not have a post-graduate degree (Sanders is not a lawyer).

Sanders moved to Vermont in 1968. He was elected Mayor of Burlington in 1980 and served in that capacity until 1989. In 1990 he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Vermont's at-large congressional district as an independent. In 2006 he was elected to the United States Senate, representing Vermont as an independent. He has participated in the Democratic Caucus in both bodies.

You're missing out on the fact that Bernie is an admitted Socialist, whom intends to push our country toward that doctrine.

That is true. Senator Sanders is voicing concerns that capitalism has had some consequences that may be troubling. He is suggesting we look at alternatives. Some sound kind of pie in the sky to me.
I really think this thread belongs in the 'off topic bar and grill'.:wink:
