Not this particular brand, however I have used column and mobile fans of this style before and they worked well when properly positioned.  No experience with the overhead ones.  When used near welding areas, we always pointed them outward and properly spaced away from the weld area to prevent blowing shielding gas away from the weld.

I know this is an old post Jarhead but I talked with a guy the other day that worked at wealthy, extremely wealthy persons farm and he said they had these fans in the horse barns....I use the word barn loosely, more like the horse mansions. He said they would move some air. That's about he extent of my knowledge however. He did say they were about $15-20k a piece!
