It's bad now from Denton to Hillsboro!!!!
In '74-'75 I traveled I-35W I seldom saw a car.  It's near bumper to bumper now and nowhere near as bad as in Dallas!

I don't doubt that a bit!!  I just have not had to drive to Austin in a long time to see it.

That kind of deal really aggravates me.
The unthinking people responsible for that situation should have to climb up there and fight it.
Next time the engineers and managers might try to THINK IT THROUGH.

you can take 6-7 diff ways home everyday but it is like a casino/box of chocolates...never know what your gonna get...bout the same coming in everyday.  Right now I am going to Grand Prairie but I live 40 miles south of Paris....belly of the beast everyday. 9 hour day, get up at four, leave by 4:30, get home by 6:30-7:00 and sure as heck ain't making rig pay.

Brent I have showed em what for.....they love me.  Vicious rumours of company rig and expense card keep getting thrown around.   At my age and demeanor I don't think I could bite on it.....after all I am running a rig after being chicken-boned with three different companies I basically LIVED for.  PLUS there so called insurance is 300 a week (thank you so dang much community organizer schlub from Chicago).   Ehh  At least I am working again and getting a decent wage.  I feel blessed to have work close to home.  My lovely wife Nickie was called by the doctor right after I started this and they said cancer.  Thank the Good Lord Almighty GOD they retested and said precancer.....so she needs $$$$$ surgery and all but good news regardless.  So I will stay home until we get thru all this mess....God is good is all I can tell ya.

Yall all plug away and keep piling the bank account.....it is turning around a little bit from what I can see.

Tommy

EDIT:  Thank you so very very very much to my good friends and there family's prayers you can look at us and see God in action.  Thank you Thank You Thank You!!!!!!!

Just visited friends and family along Interstate 10. Kerrville ok, but Boerne to Beaumont packed solid. Austin is getting rubber stamped everywhere it will fit. Even worse, Louisiana was off the hook insanity. Will never see the Atchafalaya again. Too dangerous. I don't see how they are going to accommodate the business they attract. I don't have enough patience for welding AND the rat race.

This is why I live and work in a rural area, 45 min+ safely North and West of Philadelphia.  15 min ride to work and 15 min back home, not counting stops each way for coffee.  Have been driving the same route for 34 years.  I can still drive to the Philly area or Lancaster to inspect subcontractor work, but not have to deal with the daily log jam.  Two longest drives I have is to Allentown to the weld training and inspection service we use (when I need lab service) and Lancaster for the AWS Chapter meetings.  I have been blessed to have the same job with two different companies in the same building.  How did I manage to accomplish this you might ask?   "Old age and treachery beats youth and exuberance every time", and more than a little influence from the man above.
