I want to pick up a couple new spool guns, either the Miller Pro 30A or the Lincoln 250LX.

They will be used for welding aluminum with ER5356 3/64" wire.

I have gone through several Millers already.  Overall they haven't been too bad but the guys break the tabs off the drive roll covers within minutes (I don't think I have ever seen a Miller spool gun without this part being broken and held on by tape).  The Miller triggers have to be repaired from time to time and the wire speed control (potentiometer?) seems to be the eventual fail point.  Other than that, not too bad really.

Never even seen a Lincoln spool gun, but I have been pleased with the durability of their welders when compared to our Millers.

Any experiences with the Lincolns?

I'm no help for your question as I haven't used a spool gun in a lot of years...
However, I've found that I like push/pull guns a lot better.
