Dear All,
As per our client requirement , impact testing at 20 deg C required for SA 516 Gr70 plates but one of our fabricators did testing at 0 deg C. As far I know testing at lower temperatures are acceptable but how to interpret the obtained values with the required values. For Example our requirement is 37Joules for 3 specimens in transverse specimen at 20 deg C but the obtained value is 34.33 Joules for 3 specimens. Kindly help me how could I solve this issue.

Thanks in advance,
R.Dinesh

Does the applicable code allow for the use of higher temperatures than that specified? If not, the answer is retest the coupon at the correct temperature.

Oops! My bad, but the results is the same, retest.

You tested at a lower temperature than mandated, but failed to get the required values.  You have to retest.
