edit: BTW, I have no idea what that is....I've been around steel fabrication/welding/inspection for 35 years and have never seen one of those.

Is it an electromagnet? The spinner looking thing....does it go through to the other side, like it could be used to help break the magnet off of a piece of steel?

I think it is a old dental spot welder made by the Rocky Mountain metal products company but im not sure ?

there is a listing for "Tru-Chrome and Tru-Spot welding in dentristy for children today". Also, an article on orthodontic wires for this company.
