4.16.1.1 Substitution of RT for Guided Bend
Tests. Except for joints welded by GMAW-S, radiographic
examination of a welder or welding operator
qualification test plate or test pipe may be made in lieu of
bend tests described in 4.16.1(2) (see 4.22.3 for RT requirements).
