Difference Between Ed 2010 and 2015 Table 4.2

Hello guys, i have a query regarding the new chapter 9 for pqr pipe/tube qualification.

I have qualified a pqr with pipe Ø450mm thk 25, and when i saw the table 9.10 regarding the range qualification i noted that the range is limitated to pipe and tube section and not for plate how it was in old edition 2010 ( table 4.2).

Now what is my range if i use this pqr for CJP on plate?

so i apply the limitation in clause 4.

In my case i have for Tube and Pipe (table 9.10) the thk range 10mm to unlimited, and for plate (table 4.2) i have 3mm to unlimited. Is It correct??

I'm confused. Are you qualifying a welder or a welding procedure specification?

Table 9.9 lists the positions the WPS can be used for in production welds.

Table 9.10 lists the thickness range the procedure qualification supports.

If you go to the AWS website for errata, you will note that the heading for Table 9.10 should be corrected to include "plate". I think that may be the solution to your question.

However, a qualification using a wall thickness of 10 mm only qualifies the WPS up to 2T or 20 mm maximum.

I have multiple printings of D1.1:2015. You forced me to go through the errata and make the changes in this particular copy.
