Dear all,
Set through Nozzle P3 material is welded to shell which is P1 material by E7018-1electrode. Nozzle(P3 material) thickness 10.97mm and diameter 42.57mm. Now governing thickness will be shell thickness X mm( lets take three cases X1= 12mm, X2= 35mm, X=40mm).
1.Should I consider P3 material thickness limit i.e 16mm  or P1 material thickness limit i.e 38mm to determine PWHT is applicable or not?
2.In which case we need PWHT ?
3.If nozzle is P4 material which is buttered with C-Mo filler material i.e P3 material composition and PWHT is done prior to welded with shell. then Nozzle to shell welding is done by E7018 electrode. Is PWHT again needed after welding of nozzle to shell (a) for case 1,X1= 12mm? (b) for case 2, X2= 35mm? (c) for case 3, X3=40mm?
Thank you in advance

If any of the thicknesses, of any of the materials involved require PWHT, then PWHT is required.

Governing thickness is given by P1 material..then also nozzle thickness have to be consided?

In dissimilar welds the governing thickness is that which is the most stringent.
