Sir,
I am working as an Engg. in fabrication industry(refinery & adible oil equipments manufacturing industry)
our company first time ever conduct third party inspection schedule.
& inspector fails All circumferential & long seam welding because of its weld ripples thk. & height not match as per code.
(shell thk. 8 mm(MOC S.S 304/316)
can anybody please guide me what required size of weld ripples required.

Can you supply code you are working to? Process used etc. As much info as possible. Then maybe someone can help.

Every welding standard and code has specific acceptance criteria. One must know what standard is being used to provide a valid  response.

Even ASME piping codes can have multiple responses to this inquiry depending on the operating temperature or service class. A piping system operating at high temperature or classified for high pressure fluid service is more restrictive than for other applications.
