I am going to be laser welding aluminized 409 tubing 0.040" thick. The tubing is subsequently spun to 50% of the original diameter, and hence the weld must be highly formable.
I am concerned that the coating will make the weld brittle.
I am considering removing a small strip of the coating either side of the weld line.
Does anyone have any better suggestions?
