Can anyone tell me where I can find this fitting?  Its the brass off a smashed GTAW back cap. I need a few of these as is but have no idea what its called or where I can find out without the plastic on it.

The plastic end is missing, I'm not sure if you can buy it as shown in the picture.
Maybe some of the TIG guys here will know for sure.

Here is an ad off ebay with 4 sizes shown:(these have the plastic "hat" on them)

It's part of the Tail Cap.

Only can get them as part of the whole cap (w/ the plastic) as seen in jwright650's picture.

Buy a few complete ones, or see if any fab shops in the area have broken ones they would give you. Then finish smashing off the plastic.

The long ones always end up broken, last Tig shop I worked at, I had a few that I kept in my tool box for some dumb reason. Unfortunately, I tossed them when I left there.

Try the GTAW torch manufacturers like Weld Craft or CK

do you think they actually manufacture it or they sub it out.  I talked to basic machine shop and it was outrageous to produce.
I went a bought 50 back caps at $0.90 each and am just going to smash off the plastic.

"I went a bought 50 back caps at $0.90 each and am just going to smash off the plastic."

...hard to argue with that price. Curious if you get any porosity issues with the plastic missing, or is there even a potential there to draw in atmosphere?....Nevermind, I thought there was a hole in the top...it's a solid knurl for the plastic to grip

No there is a hole in the top yes.  I'm making my own custom back caps and needed the brass part to match the proper seal.
